Our whitewater rafting trip is this weekend. Please review the GT8 website for all details. We are a smaller group (9 scouts), so we will not need a parent to drive for the carpool this time since ASM Altepeter and SM Tucker can fit all the scouts and gear in their cars. We will meet at the North Chevy Chase Christian Church at 9:30 am on Saturday, and will be coming back to the same location on Sunday at about 10:00 (we will send an email with the exact timing on Sunday morning).

If you are going to Summer camp, all medical forms are due to Lida Oum, the GT8 form coordinator (lida.oum@gmail.com) by May 1. BSA health forms parts A, B, and C are required and part C needs to be completed by a physician.

Abby Keehn will lead planting a native plant garden at North Bethesda Middle School on Wednesday, April 15 (an MCPS half-day).

Join us for the Spring Merit Badge Day on April 18, 2026 from 10am-2:30pm at Holy Redeemer (basement classrooms). We will offer the opportunity to start working on 2 merit badges (4 to choose from).

A fitness test for the Tenderfoot requirement will be held on Saturday, April 25th at 9:00 AM at Silver Creek Middle School in Kensington. Please sign up for the fitness test here. The fitness test is a Tenderfoot requirement which requires a baseline test of push-ups, sit-ups, flexibility and a mile run and a retest after 30 days after planning a month-long fitness improvement plan and executing the plan.

Scouts need to pass a swim test before being allowed to participate in water-based activities including Summer camp and the April 11-12 whitewater rafting trip.
